Dr. Gregg Lage was given the prestigious Everyday Hero Award in 2002 by Channel 7 News in Denver, Colorado. This was in recognition of his volunteer work in elementary schools accross the nation, where he appears as Dr. Sluggo, a dental hygiene super hero. |

In
the guise of Dr. Sluggo (a nickname he earned from his college wrestling
team), Gregg visits elementary schools and gives fun, interactive talks
promoting dental hygiene. He dresses in his super hero outfit and has
great success in getting kids to brush their teeth at home more frequently
and even to start flossing regularly. Parents are greatful after each
of his appearances and schools look forward to scheduling his visits.
